Magnus Breech is Gunther's father. A wealthy merchant and a shrewd and cunning businessman, he will often lie, cheat and swindle his way to the top. Since he is paying for his son to train as a knight, Magnus pushes Gunther to out-do his rival, Jane, and be the best and will try almost anything himself if his son doesn't succeed on his own. Magnus generally treats others, especially his son, coldly, particularly when they don't meet his high expectations and sometimes even when they do.
